How to request deletion
From the Divya Maarg app or website (fastest):
- Sign in to your account
- Go to Profile → Your Data & Privacy
- Tap Close Account and confirm
Without access to the app: email team@taatvam.com from the address or phone number on your account and ask us to close it. We will verify you're the account holder before acting on the request.
What happens when you request closure
- Your account is closed immediately, your profile becomes inaccessible, and you're signed out everywhere.
- A 7-day grace window follows. Logging back in during this window cancels the closure and restores your account exactly as it was.
- Push notification tokens are deleted immediately; we stop being able to notify your device from that point on.
- After the grace window, your account is archived, not permanently erased. Your name, phone number, and other direct identifiers are removed from your live profile, but a copy of your data is retained in an internal, access-restricted archive.
What's kept, what's deleted, and for how long
- Identifiers (name, phone, email, birth details): removed from your live profile at closure. Retained inside the archive unless you separately request permanent erasure (below).
- Kundli charts, purchase history, puja bookings, Guru Review replies, support cases: kept in the archive so we can honour warranty, refund, and legal-dispute obligations, and so your account can be restored if the closure was a mistake.
- Payment and financial records: retained for 8 years, as required by Indian tax law (Income-tax Act §44AA / Companies Act). This applies even to a permanently erased account.
- Push notification tokens: deleted immediately, not archived.
Requesting permanent erasure
If you want your archived data permanently destroyed rather than retained (your right under India's DPDP Act, EU/UK GDPR, or California's CCPA/CPRA), email team@taatvam.com and ask for erasure of your archive. Once we've verified the request, we permanently delete the archive and every remaining personal record, keeping only the financial records the law requires us to retain, with all identifying details stripped from those. This step cannot be undone. We aim to respond within 30 days.
